On My Line 03:11
I’ve been waiting all night No phone call No message on my line I pace the floor And smoke another cigarette I’d like to believe it's an easy thing to forget But love is a habit That I don’t intend to quit yet Maybe it’s better off like that Maybe it’s better off unsaid But I’ve been waiting so long Three nights, babe That have pulled me into dawn And every day goes by But you don’t see How quietly my heart keeps breaking Love is a habit And it’s killing me in silence Maybe it’s better off like that Maybe it’s better off unsaid
2.
Once I had a mind to Hold a light to you And know better The fine lines And watch as tired eyes close Slow motion The windows are opening I love you in another dimension Why not make it two Heard it from another life And I’m offering to you And now I find myself An old memory Benediction But not for me Because in that dream I found you So much earlier Too early And we laugh You know, I love you in another dimension Why not make it two I love you in another dimension Why not make it two Heard it from another life And I’m offering to you In the morning heart is strange And heavy From feeling Everything all night
3.
I hear your voice Sawing through the canyon Like a wish On the wind Through the trees And I am listening In a daze In a dream When it hits me In a wave As many birds flying As water flowing freely As… As some light falling Slowly turning lavender I forgot to look up Now I suffer Make me want to cry But I am a dry creek bed Sighing in the summer And I worry some That I’ve loved too much Now it has left me empty As… My body knows Everything Stronger Than me I know it The feeling of your good love In my arms A kiss in the dark My body knows it I know it The feeling of good love In my arms Slow down

Mirror Heart 03:33
5.
It doesn’t make it harder Or easy on me But there is some sadness When you toss and turn in your sleep And you whisper words of love Just to take it all back in a breath ‘Cause when I dream It’s yellow flowers And a Black Eyed Susan To remind me That even through these darkened dreams I still need tending Yeah even through these darkened dreams I still need tending And I’m just trying to get along I saw love come and let go Up a ways And through the valley And I’m just trying to get along Maybe I was born a rose And forgot how to bloom Maybe you were born a lily Born too bright to see the truth in things And we’re just trying to get along Oh, to be tender like you Isn’t a waning moon But a seed in the dark Never knowing June
6.
What I understood What love was What made it good Made unsustainable As we grow up In the dry dirt Being worried for And wondered at Why do they keep coming back Why do we keep coming back But I don't’ want that kind of callous contract I want something sweet and pure Something that’s made to last And so tender I believe in you my love Oh, certain as the most certain sure does I’m giving you my heart And I’m giving it to you with all that i’ve got Oh yes I’m going to carry it in me Like a rose carries its scent Oh yes For that kind of prosperity I can make change In due time Well spent But what does it mean If i can’t find that small thing That keeps grief within reach No holds barred And grinding teeth Sometimes I get cut, yes Sometimes I bleed, yes But it’s worth its wonder in happiness So tender I believe in you my love I’m giving you my heart And I’m giving it to you with all that i’ve got
7.
I saw you misty by the lake today Turning over stone in your silent way Burning off the rest of what’s been lucky I saw baby blue turn gray I saw light break through an hourglass And sweet smoke rise in a tired dance Love is hungry work And we’re so salty for making some good magic last You know I could take good care of you Fall is framing From a different state I see your colors changing I’d sure like to stay as long as you’d have me Though I know nothing ever stays the same I know it’s hard to forget good timing But, life’s been good to us And we’re surviving You know I could take good care of you
8.
Bhuta Kala 03:39
Glass door slides to the left And away from the heart To gently let the rain it To the room Where we slept through the dark And woke again To thunder through the body And now life is still Please don’t break spell Give me just a little while It’s all alright You’ve got time Let it in Let it die You ask me what I’m doing I will tell you In short words That I’m thinking of my soul In many places And watch you retrace steps To taste a memory Before you forget And now life is fine Please don’t break spell Give me just a little while It’s all alright You’ve got time Let it in Let it die
9.
So far so good I know, it feels like a bad dream Well hold on Though, it’s never ending I want to kiss you for the first time again My love is in the yard It’s a silent song of summer And it breaks my heart Over and over I want to kiss you for the first time again But why should I get what I want Why should I be granted love When the world So hungry For what I have been holding That I don’t have eyes To see how I have so long Been carrying with me I want to see you for the first time again But why should I get what I want Why should I be granted love Sometimes forget Remember My love in the yard Is a silent song of summer And it breaks my heart Over and over I want to kiss you for the first time again
10.
Love Is Good 05:24
Early riser Stayed awake to late again But by the time I realize It’s just so hard to pretend Why do I worry Oh heart be light I can be so good at forgetting And push the sweetest things from my mind And I need to you remind me that Love is good When its here to stay Yes it is, yes it is, yes it is And it’s so find believing It’ll never go away Keeps me burning Through a tired song Sometimes fragile feels like fire A kiss be a day and beyond And you keep reminding me that Love is good When its here to stay Yes it is, yes it is, yes it is And it’s so fine believing It’ll always be that way

about

Meernaa's So Far So Good includes early singles "On My Line," "Another Dimension" and "I Believe In You," the latter of which arrived with the announcement of Meernaa's signing with Keeled Scales. Carly Bond's followup to her 2019 record Heart Hunger, which Paste described as "a dazzling display of instrumental prowess and technical know-how" refines those skills even further into a vividly-written-and-performed portrait of self-examination. So Far So Good finds Bond processing themes of addiction and loss, interpreting dreams, and discovering methods of release behind intertwining compositions of Americana, indie-pop and classic R&B.

A Bay Area native, Bond started out as a music lover before picking up the guitar and learning the ropes through her high school jazz program. Eventually, Bond began writing her own songs. Wanting to deepen her knowledge of music and grappling with the decision of attending college, Bond began interning at Tiny Telephone Recording in San Francisco in 2013, and eventually worked to afford one day of recording for herself, where she ended up working with her future bandmate and husband Rob Shelton.

Shelton and Bond began playing music together soon after and Bond began releasing music as Meernaa, collaborating with other Bay Area musicians Doug Stuart (Brijean) and Andrew Maguire. In 2020, Shelton and Bond moved to Los Angeles together to open their own studio Altamira Sound with other Tiny Telephone alums James Riotto and Andrew Maguire, fostering a community around the blooming LA music scene. As Meernaa, Bond has continued to hone her skills as a guitarist, songwriter and perfomer, sharing bills with the likes of Helado Negro, Nilüfer Yanya, Sam Evian, Miya Folick, and Brijean.

I'M FLOATING UPSTAIRS, MY BEST SHOES POINTLESS.
THE SONG IN MY POCKET MAKES ALIEN GRAVITY.
THERE'S A THIRD FLOOR WITH A GOOD VIEW. I'LL SEE THE CAR PULL UP. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO DRIVES. BOTH SEATS PLEASE ME. THE DRIVER GETS PURPOSE. THE RIDER A CHANCE TO WAVE AT A NEIGHBOR, THE MOON, A HORSE.
I WORE THIS DRESS TO BE SEEN. BUT I'M GLAD
TO HIDE PAST THE STREET LIGHTS.
